Duties
- Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and oral surgery
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment according to infection prevention management protocols
- Take and develop dental x-rays, including digital imaging and 3D scans, ensuring patient safety and comfort
- Manage patient flow by scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and utilizing patient management software such as Denticonor Dentrix
- Monitor vital signs and medical documentation to support comprehensive patient care
- Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Support dental reception duties when needed by greeting patients, managing inquiries, and coordinating appointment logistics
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant with current licensure in the applicable region
- Proven experience with dental assisting in a busy clinical environment, preferably with pediatric dentistry or oral surgery experience
- Proficiency in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Denticon for accurate record keeping
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and dental equipment operation including X-ray machines and 3D scanners
- Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures aligned with healthcare infection prevention standards
- Ability to perform chairside assisting using four-handed dentistry techniques efficiently
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, team members, and healthcare professionals
- Rotating Saturdays
