Part-Time Caregiver – Fairfield, CA
GentleHands Home Care
GentleHands Home Care is currently seeking caring, dependable, and compassionate caregivers to join our team and provide non-medical in-home care services to clients in Fairfield, California.
This position primarily serves clients in Fairfield; however, caregivers who are willing to work in nearby communities such as Vacaville, Davis, Sacramento, and other areas throughout Solano and Sacramento Counties are highly encouraged to apply.
As a caregiver, you will play an important role in helping seniors and adults maintain their independence, dignity, safety, and quality of life while remaining in the comfort of their own homes.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Active Home Care Aide (HCA) ID or PER ID registered with the California Home Care Aide Registry
- Valid California Driver's License
- Reliable transportation with current automobile insurance for client transportation
- Negative TB test completed within the last 90 days
- Ability to safely lift, transfer, and assist clients up to 50 pounds
- Ability to travel to client homes within Fairfield and surrounding communities
- Spanish-speaking skills are preferred but not required
Caregiver Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, mobility assistance, and transfers
- Provide compassionate personal care while promoting client dignity and independence
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding when necessary
- Monitor and encourage proper nutrition and hydration
- Provide companionship, conversation, and emotional support
- Perform light housekeeping duties, laundry, and household organization
- Provide medication reminders according to agency policies and care plans
- Observe and report changes in a client's physical, emotional, or mental condition
- Complete accurate care notes and documentation
- Follow all agency safety standards, infection-control procedures, and emergency protocols
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, office staff, clients, and family members
