GENTLE GIANTS DRAFT HORSE RESCUE – DONOR RELATIONS SPECIALIST
Gentle Giants Draft Horse Rescue is a 501c3 non-profit equine welfare organization based in Mt. Airy, Maryland. We are the largest draft horse rescue in the country and house an average of 150 draft horses at a time on over 300 acres.
We are equipped to tackle the many needs of our equine friends. From canker and CPL treatments to the unique housing we provide for our blind horses, we pride ourselves in providing top notch rehabilitation and care.
What you’ll do:
Our program is entirely funded by donations and the Donor Relations team is responsible for engaging with and thanking our generous supporters in a variety of ways. Your typical workday will consist of any of the following:
- Protecting donor information and financial records according to our Donor Privacy Policy
- Assisting with all gift processing functions following our Donor Relations Plan
- Processing and recording all donations received directly at the mailing address
- Performing data entry assuring accuracy and standardization within the system
- Operating all donor databases in a concise and proficient manner
- Assisting with Sponsor acknowledgement and Sponsorship appreciation program
- Having a basic working knowledge of the organizations mission and political stances and be able to communicate such to
- supporters and donors
- Being an available point of contact for donors contacting the organization by phone
- May assist with other programs by providing organizational support and planning
- Assist with other duties integral to the day to day operations of the rescue on an as-needed basis
- Manage time and duties to ensure tasks are completed daily
- Assist with all donor relations and acknowledgment programs
- Assist with acknowledgment of High Dollar Donors in collaboration with the Director of Donor Relations
- Answer telephone, emails, and return calls
- Other duties as assigned
Required Experience, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to create and maintain digital records, databases, and schedules
- Ability to type and hand-write receipts and acknowledgements
- Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail
- Ability to self-direct and self-motivate
- Ability to manage time to ensure completion of daily tasks
- Ability to use telephone, email, multiple databases, excel, and other internet based communication methods
- Excellent telephone and email communication skills
- Legible handwriting required
- Assistance with general day to day operations of the farm including but not limited to horse care and other tasks as needed or assigned
- Other tasks as needed or assigned
Details:
- Job Type: Full-time (40 hours per week), Non-Exempt/Hourly
- Pay: $17.00/Hour. This position is eligible for overtime as approved by the Director of Donor Relations.
- Schedule: As established with supervisor.
- Benefits: 2 weeks paid vacation, $200 monthly Health Reimbursement Account
