Pay: $16–$17 per hour, based on relevant experience
Pay schedule: Weekly
Shift: 7:30 PM–9:30 AM
Gentle Care of Montgomery is seeking dependable, compassionate caregivers to provide companionship and overnight monitoring for an older adult with memory difficulties and a tendency to wander.
Schedule and availability
Coverage is needed seven nights a week, including weekends, with caregivers working assigned nights on a rotating schedule. One caregiver is not expected to work all seven nights.
The 7:30 PM–9:30 AM hours are fixed. You must be available for the entire 14-hour shift. Later arrivals and earlier departures cannot be accommodated.
This is an awake overnight position. Caregivers must remain awake, alert, and attentive throughout the shift.
Responsibilities
- Provide companionship, reassurance, and respectful support.
- Monitor for wandering and provide calm redirection according to the care plan.
- Help maintain a safe, comfortable environment.
- Assist with nighttime and morning routines as outlined in the care plan.
- Document care provided, observations, and any concerns.
- Promptly report changes in condition or safety concerns.
- Complete a clear handoff to the next caregiver.
Qualifications
- At least one year of caregiving experience.
- Experience supporting individuals with dementia or memory difficulties.
- Patience, sound judgment, and dependable attendance.
- Reliable transportation to and from Eclectic.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification.
- Ability to complete required background screening and training.
- CNA certification preferred.
