Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and energetic Groomer to join our dynamic pet care team! In this role, you will be the key to making pets look and feel their best while ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the grooming process. Your enthusiasm for animal care, combined with excellent communication skills, will help pet owners feel confident and satisfied with our services. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to work closely with animals, providing grooming, pet styling, and basic veterinary-related care in a lively, supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform pet grooming services including bathing, brushing, hair trimming, pet coat styling, and nail trimming to meet each pet’s specific needs.
• Handle animals safely and compassionately during grooming procedures, ensuring proper restraint and comfort.
• Assist with pet handling tasks such as dog training, animal restraint, and managing animal behavior to facilitate smooth grooming sessions.
• Communicate effectively with pet owners about grooming preferences, special needs, and aftercare instructions.
• Maintain cleanliness of grooming stations and ensure all tools are sanitized and in excellent condition.
• Support veterinary staff by providing basic animal care tasks such as feeding, administering medications if trained, and assisting with veterinary technician or assistant duties when needed.
• Lift heavy pets or equipment safely to prevent injury while providing excellent animal care.

Skills

• Strong experience in pet grooming techniques including pet coat styling and pet nail trimming.
• Knowledge of dog handling, animal handling, and companion animal handling practices.
• Experience working with veterinary environments or veterinary technician/assistant roles is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with dog training methods and animal restraint techniques to ensure safe grooming sessions.
• Excellent communication skills for engaging with pet owners confidently and professionally.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling large or heavy animals or equipment.
• Customer service skills to create a positive experience for clients and their pets.
• Basic kennel experience or pet sitting background is a plus for understanding overall animal care needs.
