Duties
- Conduct thorough eye examinations to assess vision and detect ocular diseases.
- Diagnose and manage various eye conditions using appropriate treatment plans.
- Provide patient education on eye health, vision correction options, and preventive care.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation using EMR and EHR systems.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Stay updated on advancements in optometry practices and medical terminology.
- Deliver exceptional customer service while assisting patients with their optical needs.
- Engage in sales activities related to eyewear products and services.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid state licensure to practice optometry.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical coding relevant to optometry.
- Proficient understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
- Familiarity with optical equipment and technologies used in eye examinations.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service.
