Job Summary
The Collision Estimator is responsible for guiding customers through the repair process from initial estimate to vehicle delivery. This role prepares accurate repair plans, communicates with customers and insurance companies, coordinates with the production team, and ensures every repair meets Gentile's Collision's standards for safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, an excellent communicator, and committed to delivering an exceptional customer experience while supporting efficient shop operations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections to assess collision damage using computer-aided vehicle damage estimating software. CCC ONE
- Prepare detailed repair estimates that include parts, labor, and materials, ensuring accuracy and transparency for customers and insurance companies.
- Communicate clearly with clients to explain repair procedures, costs, and timelines while providing exceptional customer service.
- Collaborate with technicians, parts departments, and insurance adjusters to facilitate efficient repair workflows.
- Maintain detailed records of all estimates, repair orders, and client interactions in compliance with company policies.
- Stay current on industry trends, estimating software updates, and technical repair procedures to provide expert guidance.
- Utilize diagnostic software to aid in the estimating process
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a collision estimator or service writer within an collision shop environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on mechanic experience preferred.
- Proficiency in estimating software such as CCC ONE and Mitchell
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostics, collision repair processes, and auto body repairs.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and professionally.
- Knowledge of industry operations, auto service management, and insurance claim procedures.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; dynamic test drives for both diagnostic and end of process.
Pay: $60,717.50 - $95,000.00 per year
