What are the responsibilities and job description for the GM Automotive Technician / Mechanic position at Genthe Automotive?
Genthe Chevrolet is now hiring a GM Certified Technician/Mechanic. We're seeking someone who is GM manufacturer certified and/or has GM experience. If you have the drive to perform, exceed and excel, then we want you to come work with us!
The GM Certified Automotive Technician is responsible for swiftly and accurately performing automotive repairs and service in accordance with store and factory standards while ensuring customer satisfaction that meets or exceeds the GM customer satisfaction index.
GM Technician Responsibilities:
- Assist other technicians with their work when needed, team players wanted
- Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership policies and manufacturer specifications.
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
- Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
- Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are well-informed of any additional services needed.
- Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs.
- Complete all work according to the applicable safety requirements.
- Document work performed on repair order, record test procedures/results & time, per company recording & clocking procedures.
- Responsible for providing and maintaining an inventory of normal mechanics tools.
GM Technician Qualifications:
- GM experience and/or GM manufacturer certification required
- Master Technician/Mechanic level a plus
- ASE certification are a plus
- Team player focused on providing exemplary customer service
- Acceptable driving record and a valid driver's license in your state of residence
