Description
Gensler New York is seeking a senior PR leader to run media relations, thought leadership, and executive communications for one of the firm's largest and most dynamic offices.
Your Role
The Public Relations Manager leads PR strategy for Gensler New York, working with the managing directors, regional communications director, PR specialists, studio directors, and practice area leaders to identify stories, then turn them into proactive content and campaigns, and secure media coverage. The role calls for someone who understands the NYC design and real estate market and can shape Gensler's brand into compelling stories, while managing multiple deliverables at once with strategic judgment.
What You Will Do
- Develop and lead PR strategy and campaigns for Gensler New York, in partnership with office and regional leadership
- Secure media coverage proactively and manage inbound press inquiries, building and maintaining relationships with local and national outlets covering design, real estate, business, and innovation
- Create thought leadership content such as speaking engagement materials, brand publications, website content, and award submissions, and guide its distribution across channels
- Develop executive communications and positioning for office and practice area leaders
- Serve as a strategic communications partner to clients, ensuring content supports both their goals and Gensler's
- Advise on PR risk and monitor the news cycle as it relates to our work, including outside business hours when needed
- Mentor PR and communications team members, and represent the Northeast in the firmwide public relations community
- Liaise with a firmwide network of public relations staff to develop messaging, regional digital and social media strategy, and initiatives
- Track PR and engagement metrics to inform future strategy
Your Qualifications
- 10 years in PR, including experience managing a team; background in architecture, design, or commercial real estate preferred, agency or journalism experience a plus
- Established editorial relationships in design, business, and innovation media, in NYC and beyond
- Excellent communication, writing, and editing skills
- Experience managing PR and communications projects independently and in close collaboration with senior leadership
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment
**The base salary range will be estimated between $105,000 - $125,000. Gensler's total compensation package is multi-layered and includes a base salary, two annual bonuses paid in December and June.
