Position Summary
The Switchgear Technician will work directly with the Senior Field Engineer to support field and manufacturing wiring projects. This role includes hands-on tasks such as interpreting drawings, performing field and shop wiring, and executing smaller retrofit projects with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide wiring support for field and manufacturing operations.
- Assist the Field Engineer with interpreting drawings, and performing field and shop wiring tasks.
- Execute smaller retrofit projects independently, with minimal supervision.
- Ensure work is completed in accordance with safety standards and project specifications.
- 2 years minimum Switchgear/ATS/Generator Controller Experience required
- Strong knowledge and understanding of electrical systems and groupings.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical drawings.
- General understanding of ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch), generator, and switchgear operation.
- Familiarity with machinery and equipment used in field projects.
- Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and control systems and how to apply them.
- Basic knowledge of instrumentation is a plus.
- Team-oriented with excellent communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage tasks independently.
- Customer-focused with a positive, solutions-driven attitude.
- High level of initiative and drive to meet goals.
- AAS/AS Instrumentation Technology or 3-5 years equivalent experience preferred
