Professional Services Embryologist

Come join our small but rapidly growing and well respected bovine advanced reproductive company! GenOvations specializes in bovine and small ruminant advanced reproduction, including Laparoscopic Artificial Insemination, surgical and non surgical embryo transfer, in vitro fertilization, and worldwide embryo marketing and sales. We are located just north of Madison, Wisconsin, the heart of the bovine genetics capital of the world! We are seeking to add a full-time embryologist to join our energetic and rapidly growing team. The candidate will primarily work in our brand new state of the art mobile laboratory performing field embryology but will also have the opportunity to work in our well-established IVF lab performing all duties associated with in vitro embryo production.

Key responsibilities include:

--searching for, washing, grading, and processing bovine embryos for fresh ET or freezing

--searching for and grading oocytes

--assisting the veterinarian cow-side with procedure set-up, cattle handling, and injections

--assisting with frozen embryo transfer

--embryo and semen inventory management

--equipment and laboratory cleaning and disinfecting

--record keeping/data entry

--client communication

--other duties as assigned by supervisor

--the right candidate will have the opportunity to learn and perform all procedures in the IVP lab

Education Requirements:

-- B.S. in Animal Science or related field, CVT, or associate’s degree

Skills/Experience:

--Knowledge of and/or experience in the cattle industry

--Attention to detail and organization

--Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

--Excellent hand/eye coordination

The qualified individual will have a B.S. in Animal Science or a related biological science field. Experience in a laboratory setting and/or in the registered cattle industry may be substituted for education. The candidate should be proficient with computer programs such as MS Word and MS Excel, have a strong attention to detail, possess great written and verbal communication skills, and display excellent time management and organizational skills. Salary will be commensurate with experience and profit-sharing bonuses as well as other fringe benefits are available.

Our clients, ranging in size from small family farms to large corporations, are down to earth, passionate, and very successful at producing the best genetics in the world. Given the concentration of breeders in close proximity, and partnerships with nearby donor herds, the work day ends by 4 or 5pm nearly every evening, our employees do not work on weekends and we strive to provide a healthy work life balance.

Our amazing team includes our CFO, embryo export coordinator, office administrator, 4 embryologists, semen sorting technician and a donor farm herd manager.

Our practice is located in the beautiful Lodi Valley in Wisconsin close to Devil's Lake State Park and the Ice Age Trail, where bluffs, streams, and lakes are intermixed with excellent farmland. Fishing, hiking, hunting and boating opportunities abound. Madison is only a 20-minute drive with many cultural and social activities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
