What are the responsibilities and job description for the Radiation Therapy Dosimetrist position at GENNTE Technologies?
System/Equipment: Eclipse Treatment Planning, Mosaiq Record & Verify, Radformation, RadCalc and Mobius.
Responsibilities:
- Plans treatment techniques that deliver prescribed dosage of radiation.
- Obtains and/or supervises obtaining patient data for taking patient contours, localization files, CT scans and port films.
- Coordinates simulations with tumor localization procedures.
- Enters dosage calculations in patients’ radiation therapy chart.
- Supervises therapists in the implementation of treatment plans.
- Completes and/or assists in planning and building beam modifying devices.
- Obtains localization films for intracavity insertions, calculates isodose distributions and prepares sources for loading. Assists in other brachytherapy procedures.
- Responsible for radiation room surveys of patients having intracavity or interstitial procedures.
- Assists with maintaining radioactive sources.
- Provides technical assistance to the Radiation Physicist.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent and three years of dosimetry experience under the supervision of a dosimetrist, medical physicist or radiation oncologist or equivalency.
- Credentialed as a Certified Medical Dosimetrist by the American Association of Medical Dosimetry.
Compensation:
- $69.00 – $79.35 per hour, depending on education and experience.
- Discretionary bonuses, relocation expenses, merit increase, market adjustments, recognition bonuses, and other forms of discretionary compensation may be available.
