About the Role
GenMet Corp., a custom metal fabrication company based in Mequon, WI, is seeking an experienced Sales Professional to help drive sustainable revenue and margin growth. This individual will play a central role in identifying market opportunities, building strong customer relationships, and aligning customer needs with our evolving fabrication capabilities.

This position collaborates closely with cross-functional teams including Customer Service, Estimating, Engineering, and Operations to deliver high-quality solutions. The ideal candidate actively contributes to a positive company culture and supports initiatives around employee development, innovation in manufacturing, and STEM engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion a culture grounded in integrity, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across a variety of commercial markets
  • Develop and manage sales forecasts, pricing strategies, and contract negotiations
  • Build long-term relationships with key decision-makers and influencers
  • Drive customer engagement through multiple channels including digital platforms, trade events, and in-person meetings
  • Track and manage sales performance metrics using CRM tools
  • Monitor key indicators such as quoting activity, conversion rates, turnaround time, and profitability
  • Review technical documents such as blueprints and specifications to align solutions with customer requirements
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and protection of customer intellectual property
  • Partner internally to improve processes, identify new capabilities, and enhance communication across departments
  • Ensure adherence to applicable standards and regulations (ISO, ITAR, OSHA, etc.)
  • Lead and develop members of the sales and marketing team
  • Contribute to additional initiatives as business needs evolve

Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of proven success in industrial sales or business development
  • Experience building strategic, high-level client relationships
  • Strong background in sales planning, forecasting, pricing, and contract negotiation
  • Familiarity with manufacturing environments; metal fabrication experience is a plus
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and tolerances
  • Prior experience managing or mentoring sales team members preferred
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communicator across both internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP systems (such as JobBOSS) is beneficial

Physical & Travel Requirements

  • Ability to safely perform job duties in a manufacturing environment
  • Occasional local travel (approximately 5–10%)
  • Capability to perform physical movements such as bending, reaching, and lifting up to 25 lbs
