We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead the company's accounting operations and ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Controller will oversee the monthly close process, maintain strong internal controls, manage audits and tax compliance, and drive process improvements through automation and technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and cash management.
- Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Manage annual financial statement audits and coordinate with external auditors.
- Oversee corporate tax processes and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements.
- Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies.
- Produce financial analyses, exception reporting, and management reporting to support business decision-making.
- Partner closely with the CFO on financial planning, reporting, and strategic initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvement through process optimization, systems enhancements, and automation initiatives.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to improve financial data integrity and operational efficiency.
- Support ERP and business systems initiatives, including ongoing platform implementations and process automation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- CPA certification strongly preferred.
- 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Experience managing external audits and corporate tax compliance.
- Proven experience with multi-state sales and use tax compliance.
- Strong analytical mindset with experience working in highly data-driven environments.
- Recent experience working in a private equity-backed operating company.
Pay: $2.00 - $4.00 per week
