Duties
- Assist lead teachers in planning and implementing age-appropriate lessons aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, and social-emotional development.
- Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and supervising children during activities, transitions, and outdoor play.
- Provide attentive child supervision to ensure safety at all times, adhering to childcare best practices and educational compliance regulations.
- Foster inclusive learning environments by working with children of diverse abilities, including those with disabilities or autism, utilizing strategies from special education and behavior management.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones to build strong home-school connections.
- Utilize educational technologies such as computers and interactive learning tools to enhance classroom engagement.
- Collaborate closely with teachers and staff to monitor individual student needs, document progress, and support classroom behavior management strategies.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with young children in classroom or childcare settings is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles, early childhood education practices, and classroom behavior management techniques.
- Familiarity with the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) standards and educational compliance requirements.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members.
- Ability to maintain a safe environment through child supervision and first aid/CPR certification.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or autism is a plus.
- Proficiency with computers and educational technologies to support learning activities.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with teachers on lesson planning, mentoring new staff, and supporting classroom routines.
