Duties
- Assist the group supervisor in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities that promote childhood development, creativity, and social skills
- Support classroom management by maintaining a positive environment, encouraging good behavior, and implementing behavior management strategies
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring safety at all times through vigilant supervision and adherence to safety protocols such as first aid procedures
- Help with daily routines including snack time, bathroom breaks, nap times, and transitions between activities
- Collaborate with team members to monitor individual needs, especially for children requiring special education or additional support
- Support the delivery of educational programs such as tutoring sessions or themed learning activities aligned with early childhood education standards
- Maintain open communication with parents or guardians regarding children's progress and behavior when appropriate
Skills
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to foster a respectful and inclusive environment
- Knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education practices
- Experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp, babysitting, or tutoring environments
- Ability to implement behavior management techniques effectively and compassionately
- First aid certification or willingness to obtain training to respond promptly to emergencies
