Position Overview

The Data Readiness Lead is responsible for ensuring data completeness, quality, governance, migration readiness, and integration alignment across SAP S/4HANA and PLM360 programs. This role acts as the key bridge between Business, IT, Data Governance, and Program Leadership to orchestrate data assessment, cleansing, migration planning, integration readiness, and quality monitoring across the product lifecycle ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

Data Readiness & Governance Strategy

Define the Data Readiness Strategy and Roadmap in alignment with SAP Activate methodology and project migration waves.
Establish data governance standards, ownership framework, and compliance rules across global business units.
Implement policies for data quality measurement, stewardship, lifecycle management, and audit controls.

Data Assessment, Migration & Integration

Lead data profiling and quality assessment for key SAP ECC master and transactional data objects (Material, Vendor, Customer, BOM, Routing, Work Center, Equipment, etc.).
Categorize data into retain, cleanse, archive, or migrate streams based on business readiness and usage.
Lead data mapping, cleansing, transformation, enrichment, and validation activities for S/4 and PLM360.
Develop data lineage mapping and dependency traceability, including PLM-originated data into SAP.
Define cleansing and transformation rules, mapping templates, and validation scripts across master data domains.
Drive data migration execution using SAP LTMC, Migration Cockpit, and associated validation methods.
Collaborate with PLM, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams to synchronize data such as Materials, BOMs, Routings, Work Centers, and Classifications.

SAP-Specific Activities

Apply SAP Activate for fit-to-standard workshops and iterative end-to-end testing cycles.
Manage SAP MDG workflows for Material, Vendor, Customer, BOMs, Routings, and Classification datasets.

Quality Assurance & Risk Management

Define data quality KPIs and monitor compliance and readiness throughout the release lifecycle.
Proactively identify and report data risks, data gaps, and migration blockers with mitigation actions.
Support change management by establishing data ownership awareness and data handling best practices.
Provide periodic status updates and data readiness scorecards to leadership and steering committees.

Stakeholder Engagement

Act as point-of-contact for Data Readiness across Business Units and Global Data Leads.
Conduct recurring governance and readiness meetings with functional and technical stakeholders.
Lead workshops and working sessions with Data Owners, Process Leads, and Integration Teams.

Documentation & Reporting

Maintain data flow diagrams, transformation rules, mapping documentation, and governance records.
Publish monthly Data Readiness Scorecards and executive dashboards summarizing data health and migration progress.

Required Skills & Competencies

SAP S/4HANA Expertise

5 7 years of SAP Data Management experience, including at least 2 full-cycle SAP S/4HANA migrations.
Strong knowledge of S/4 architecture, Universal Journal, and simplified master data models.
Functional understanding of Material Master, BOM, Routing, Work Center, Equipment, Vendor, Customer datasets.
Hands-on experience with SAP MDG, LTMC, Migration Cockpit, and Fiori data management tools.

Integration Knowledge

Knowledge of SAP integration frameworks (IDoc, ALE, BAPI) and middleware (PI/PO, SnapLogic).
Preferable experience with Teamcenter SAP or PLM360 SAP integrations (BOM sync, ECN, material numbering, docs).

Data Management:

Strong proficiency in data profiling, cleansing, enrichment, conversion, and reconciliation.

Project Delivery:

Experience with SAP Activate and/or Agile delivery methodologies.

Communication:

Excellent stakeholder communication, leadership reporting, and cross-team coordination skills.

Preferred Experience

SAP S/4HANA enterprise transformation programs in global manufacturing.
Experience with PLM360 or similar enterprise PLM platforms.
Familiarity with SAP Readiness Check, Simplification Item List, and MDG workflows.
