Med Surg Registered Nurse

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. Duties

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with various medical conditions, including acute and chronic illnesses.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and interpret physiological data to inform care plans.
• Administer medications, including IV infusions and injections, following proper aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment plans.
• Document all patient interactions accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Assist with diagnostic procedures including laboratory specimen collection, catheterization, suturing, and wound care.
• Manage complex cases involving pain management, infection control, trauma medicine, or post-operative recovery.
• Educate patients and their families on health management strategies, discharge instructions, and medication administration.

Requirements

• Valid RN license in the state of practice with current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Proven experience in medical-surgical nursing within hospital or inpatient settings.
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation.
• Knowledge of critical care procedures including ventilator management, airway management, and acute pain control.
• Experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, neonatal care, or individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Competence in performing IV insertions, phlebotomy, specimen processing, and aseptic techniques.
• Ability to handle high-pressure situations typical of emergency room or Level I/II trauma center environments.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and CPT coding for procedures.
• Excellent communication skills coupled with a compassionate approach to patient care and team collaboration.
