Emergency Room Registered Nurse

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse for our Emergency Room team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background in emergency medicine and demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. This role requires the ability to assess, triage, and manage patients with varying degrees of medical needs while collaborating effectively with interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Emergency Room, ensuring timely assessments and interventions.
• Conduct triage assessments to prioritize patient care based on the severity of conditions.
• Administer medications, IV infusions, and treatments in accordance with established protocols and best practices.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and institutional policies.
• Perform diagnostic evaluations and procedures such as suturing, venipuncture, and airway management as needed.
• Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatment options, and post-discharge care plans.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and departmental efficiency.

Skills

• Proficient in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Epic or Cerner for documentation and patient management.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and critical care protocols.
• Experience in emergency medicine or trauma settings, preferably within a Level I or Level II trauma center.
• Familiarity with ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding for accurate medical billing and documentation purposes.
• Ability to perform advanced nursing procedures including catheterization, dialysis, and ventilator management.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams and patient education.
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure while maintaining composure during high-stress situations.
