As an Activities Assistant, you will work under the direction of the Director of Activities to help plan, organize, and lead recreational, social, and educational activities for residents in a senior housing community. The Activities Assistant supports programs that promote residents’ physical, emotional, social, and mental well-being while encouraging independence, participation, and an enhanced quality of life. Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate daily activities, events, and recreational programs that meet residents’ needs, interests, and abilities.
- Provide one-on-one interactions with residents to promote social engagement, emotional well-being, and an enhanced quality of life.
- Implement residents’ Plans of Care as they relate to activities and participation.
- Support residents in maximizing their potential for activity participation by adapting activities, providing cues and prompts, and grading activities according to individual abilities and needs.
- Document residents’ participation, responses, and progress in the Matrix documentation system, including progress notes, as required.
- Collaborate with the Director of Activities and other team members to support residents’ individual goals and overall well-being.
- Maintain a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment during activities and programs.
- Other Duties: Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Activities or designated supervisor.

Qualifications
- Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Possess a strong desire and genuine interest in working with older adults.
- Be proficient in strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and composed in stressful situations.
- Knowledge of planning, developing, and implementing arts and crafts activities for residents.
- Possess well-developed organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Have Reliable Transportation.
