We’re a small, family-operated glass shop that takes pride in quality craftsmanship, personalized service, and strong community values. Our projects range from high-end residential shower enclosures and mirrors to small-to-medium commercial storefronts, doors, and interior glass. We are looking for a skilled, motivated Lead Glazier to join and lead our install team.
Position Summary
The Lead Glazier is responsible for leading all aspects of on-site glass installation and repair for residential and commercial projects. This role includes hands-on installation, supervising assistants, jobsite coordination, and ensuring all work meets company standards for safety, quality, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, handle, and install various types of glass (tempered, laminated, IGUs, mirrors, etc.)
- Install framed and frameless shower enclosures, mirrors, tabletops, window glass, storefront systems, and commercial doors
- Lead and train junior installers and assistants
- Read and interpret drawings, work orders, and measurements
- Safely load, transport, and unload glass and materials to job sites
- Maintain job site cleanliness and professionalism
- Communicate effectively with clients, general contractors, and office staff
- Ensure adherence to safety procedures and proper use of PPE
- Perform minor repairs or adjustments post-installation as needed
- Document completed work and provide feedback for job completion reports
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of glazing experience (both residential and commercial preferred)
- Strong knowledge of common hardware and systems (CRL, U.S. Aluminum, Kawneer, etc.)
- Excellent measuring and layout skills
- Ability to lead a crew and make real-time decisions on job sites
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to lift heavy glass panels (up to 100 lbs with help) and work on ladders
- Familiarity with power tools, sealants, and safety equipment
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Reliable, punctual, and respectful
Preferred (but not required)
- Experience installing automatic doors, glass handrails, or curtain wall systems
- OSHA 10/30 certification
- Forklift or lift certification
- Experience with job tracking apps or digital reporting
