POSITION: Summer Help – Custodial/Grounds/Painters TERMS OF

EMPLOYMENT: 2-3 Months - 40 hour work week

Grounds-6:30 am - 4:00pm Mon-Thurs Custodians/Painters-6:00am-3:30pm Mon-Thurs.

6:30 am – 10:30 am Fri. 6:00am-10:00am Fridays

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must have High School diploma or equivalent

2. Must have a current and valid Illinois driver’s license

3. Must have a good driving record

4. Knowledge of painting

5. Able to communicate and understand simple written and oral instructions in English

6. Able to lift up to 50 lb. and transport materials (equipment, supplies, etc.) of that weight to various sites and throughout the school

7. Able to work off ladders

8. Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others

REPORTS TO: Building Services Coordinator

JOB GOAL: Maintain a safe and secure environment. Balance the need to protect students, staff,

community, and property with the desire to create an environment that remains conducive to learning

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

⮚ Perform all other tasks as assigned by the Director of Facility Operations and/or his

designee

⮚ Perform painting of the interior and exterior of buildings and facilities

⮚ Perform and assist in ground maintenance

⮚ Perform custodial functions and duties

⮚ Perform moving of equipment, materials, furniture, and supplies

⮚ Clean and maintain equipment, and District vehicle

⮚ Report any equipment needing repair

⮚ Promote personnel safety, safety procedures, and safe working environment

Physical Ability: Tasks involve the ability to exert very heavy physical effort in very heavy work, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, and the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of heavy objects and materials up to 50 pounds

Sensory Requirements: Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, and depths. Most tasks require visual perception and discrimination

Environmental factors: Tasks are regularly performed with exposure to adverse environmental conditions; such as wetness, humidity, machinery, vibrations, temperature and noise extremes, electrical currents, bright or dim lighting, etc.
