Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Bus Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting passengers, particularly children, while ensuring a positive and secure environment. Responsibilities
- Safely operate a bus or van, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Ensure the safety and comfort of passengers during transit.
- Communicate effectively with passengers, parents, and school personnel regarding schedules and any issues that may arise.
- Manage behavior of children on the bus, implementing appropriate behavior management techniques as needed.
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking from the vehicle, ensuring that all individuals are accounted for before departure.
- Conduct regular inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe working condition.
- Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Provide exceptional customer service to all passengers, fostering a welcoming atmosphere.
Experience
- Previous experience as a driver, particularly in a van or bus setting, is preferred.
- Experience working with children is highly desirable; familiarity with behavior management techniques is a plus.
- Strong communication skills in English; multilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
- Customer service experience is beneficial for interacting positively with passengers and their families.
- Knowledge of paratransit services is an asset but not required.
