The City of Geneva is seeking an Engagement Analyst to lead efforts that strengthen communication, participation, understanding, and a sense of belonging within our organization and the community. The position works with the team at City Hall to ensure fair and equitable services, bolsters partnership and community engagement strategies across the community, and develops strategies and implements workforce initiatives to promote inclusive leadership practices. This part-time position reports to the Assistant City Administrator/Director of Administrative Services and assists with internal and external initiatives focused on accessibility and effective service delivery for all. Working with City staff, residents, and community stakeholders, the Engagement Analyst helps gather and analyze feedback, make recommendations, and develop practices that create a sense of belonging for all. - Meet and strategize with the City's leadership team to engage employees, recommend and implement actions consistent with the City's Strategic Plan and help to build a welcoming culture at all levels of operations.
- Conduct assessments and make recommendations regarding best practices for training initiatives, workplace policies, shared language and definitions, fostering a sense of belonging, development of inclusive leadership and processes, etc.
- Collaborate with the Human Resources Division to evaluate retention, recruitment data, onboarding practices, employee feedback, and other data to support employee engagement and development initiatives.
- Advise City staff regarding external and internal communications to ensure best practices are consistently applied to both.
- Represent the City to working groups, building relationships that support participation and enhance a sense of welcoming throughout the community.
- Collaborate with workgroups to promote accessibility at City facilities and events, coordinate audits of City buildings and the built environment.
- Prepare and present annual reports to fellow employees and the City Council to help promote informed and data-driven decision making.
- Help develop effective, innovative, and engaging ways to communicate the City’s goals and priorities with residents, businesses, students, and community groups.
- Contribute to the City’s newsletter, develop strategies for sharing information digitally on the City’s website and social media channels.
- Working with a team to celebrate and recognize success in the workplace and develop annual training programs for employees and City officials that align with City’s goals.
- Get creative and work with an energized team to shape the way the City communicates and listens to the community through digital, written, video, and in-person events.
- Help develop a comprehensive onboarding and training program centered around inclusivity, access and engagement for City staff and elected/appointed officials
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Psychology, Social Work, Public Administration, Human Resources, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
Experience:
Two to four years of progressively responsible and related experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of current issues, trends, practices and principles of accessibility, belonging, inclusion and community engagement.
Related laws and regulations.
Principles of report writing, data analysis, and evaluation.
Project management techniques and methods.
Practices and principles of local government and policy development.
Skill in:
Performing analytical work of a highly responsible nature requiring program and policy analysis.
Effectively presenting information using graphics and speaking to a variety of audiences.
Organizing and prioritizing daily work.
Public relations and communicating clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Maintain working relationships with employees, agencies, and general public.
Mental and Physical Abilities:
While performing the essential functions of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to sit; stand; bend; use hands to grasp, hold, keyboard, and perform repetitive movements; read and write.

This is a part-time position that is estimated to average 18 hours per week throughout the year. Work is primarily performed indoors at City Hall, but there are times this individual will be required to attend external meetings. The schedule is flexible depending on the candidate. Work must be performed primarily during regular work hours of 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
This position is ineligible for additional fringe benefits.
