Staff Accountant - Hybrid

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Staff Accountant with our Banking/Financial Services client in their New York, NY location. This is a 6-month hybrid (3 days onsite) contract. Pay rate range: $55.00 - $60.00 hourly W2.

Responsibilities:

• Support the monthly general ledger close, including preparing journal entries, performing Balance Sheet and P&L reviews/analysis, and completing account reconciliations.
• Analyze monthly expense categories to support accruals, variance commentary, stakeholder reporting, and forecasting.
• Assist with the monthly submission to the Global Consolidation group which includes the running of certain control reports, providing variance commentary on Balance Sheet and P&L fluctuations, ensuring disclosure schedules are accurately reflected.
• Partner with team members on the production and presentation of monthly reporting decks.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes for both cash flow and actuals.
• Perform ad hoc analyses for internal and external reporting purposes.
• Assist in the coding, review and approval of invoices within the AP invoice application.
  
  

Requirements:

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting, CPA a plus
• Strong accounting foundation, experience in financial services a plus.
• Strong analytical skills and a high level of proficiency using Microsoft software applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact across finance and other business groups.
• Team‐oriented with the ability to work independently.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and escalate issues when appropriate.
• Self‐motivated, detail‐oriented, and results driven.
• Experience with SAP GL is a plus.
• Accounting degree
• 2-5 years of relevant work experience
