Senior AI Developer (Full Stack) - Contract Position

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior AI Developer (Full Stack) for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC. This is a 9 month contract opportunity.

As a senior, hands-on AI engineer, you will design, build, and productionize GenAI applications end-to-end. You will lead the development of robust LangChain/LangGraph agentic workflows, high-quality RAG pipelines, and scalable microservices on Google Vertex AI. This role owns system design, implementation, MLOps, observability, and governance, partnering closely with product, data, security, and platform teams to deliver reliable, secure, and cost-efficient AI products.

Responsibilities:

• Design multi-step agentic workflows with LangGraph and LangChain
• Build guardrails and observability features like tracing, telemetry, and logging
• Own ingestion pipelines, including chunking, embeddings, document normalization, and vector DB indexing
• Implement retrieval strategies such as hybrid, multi-vector, reranking, and query planning
• Productionize services on Google Vertex AI and containerize with Docker/Kubernetes
• Build user-facing applications (React/Next.js) and backends (Python/FastAPI, Node/Express)
• Define and automate GenAI evaluation for relevance, faithfulness, and hallucination rate
• Implement data privacy controls, policy enforcement, and prompt hardening
• Optimize for latency and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
• Establish best practices for prompt patterns, orchestration, and testing
• Mentor other engineers and collaborate with product/design to scope features

Requirements:

• 7-10 years of software engineering experience
• 3-5 years of applied ML/GenAI experience building production systems
• Expert with LangChain and LangGraph (tools, agents, state graphs, retries, sub-graphs, observability)
• Hands-on experience with Vertex AI (Foundational models, Endpoints, Pipelines, Vector Search, Model Garden)
• Strong RAG practitioner (chunking strategies, embeddings, hybrid retrieval, rerankers)
• Deep experience with vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, Milvus, FAISS) and embedding models (OpenAI, Vertex, Cohere, bge-large)
• Production backend experience in Python (FastAPI) or Node.js, plus React/Next.js front-end experience
• Solid cloud experience (GCP preferred; AWS/Azure a plus), Docker/Kubernetes, and CI/CD
• Strong understanding of GenAI evaluation (RAGAS, G-Eval), observability (LangSmith/OpenTelemetry), and prompt/version management
• Knowledge of security & governance: PII handling, isolation, data residency, prompt injection defenses, secret management
• Excellent communication skills with a proven track record of turning ambiguous problem statements into shipped products

Desired skills:

• Knowledge graphs (RDF/OWL), retrieval planning, and toolformer/agent patterns
• LLM serving and routing (mixture of experts, function/tool calling, Guardrails, Instructor schemas, Pydantic)
• LlamaIndex experience; structured RAG (SQL/Graph RAG); function/tool calling integrations

Pay range: $59.53 - $67.53 per hour
