Product Owner III

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Product Owner III for an onsite, contract-to-hire position with a Major Financial Institution located in Pittsburgh, PA, Phoenix, AZ, Denver, CO, or Strongsville, OH. This is a long-term contract opportunity.

This role is a foundational contributor in a newly formed product organization focused on building shared, reusable enterprise platforms for communication and document management. The Product Owner will be responsible for understanding the platform vision and translating it into a clear, well-structured backlog. They will partner closely with Product Managers and Technology teams to define scope, decompose work, and ensure delivery aligns with enterprise standards of reuse and scalability.

Responsibilities:

• Own the vision and definition of the product, serving as the voice of the customer
• Translate business and platform needs into clear, actionable requirements in close partnership with engineering and architecture
• Create, manage, and prioritize the product backlog, including EPICs, features, user stories, dependencies, and acceptance criteria
• Partner closely with Product Managers and Technology to define scope, decompose work, and support PI planning and sprint execution
• Continuously prioritize and refine the backlog, make day-to-day scope and tradeoff decisions, and incorporate stakeholder feedback
• Work closely with development teams to deliver stories that add customer value at a regular cadence
• Ensure product quality expectations are defined and known across the team

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• 4-6 years of experience as a Product Owner or in a similar role
• Hands-on experience using Jira for backlog management
• Strong experience working in Agile delivery environments (Scrum, SAFe), including PI planning, sprint planning, and backlog refinement
• Experience working on enterprise platforms or shared capabilities, with an understanding of integrations, APIs, and cross-team dependencies
• Demonstrated experience leading product strategy and vision, thinking holistically across the ecosystem, and prioritizing with discipline
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with comfort making day-to-day prioritization and scope decisions
• Ability to work independently and manage one's time effectively

Desired skills:

• Experience in a regulated or risk-aware environment, such as financial services
• Familiarity with Confluence or similar tools for documentation and product artifacts
• Exposure to delivery metrics, dashboards, or outcome-based prioritization
• Experience helping establish or mature product practices in a new or growing organization

Pay range: $42.66 - $50.66 per hour
