Genesis10 is currently seeking a Java Developer - Hybrid position with a Leading Consumer Electronics Retailer located in Richfield, MN. This is a 6 month contract opportunity.
Compensation: $62.00 - $68.00 per hour, W2, based on qualifications
Position Overview:
As a critical member of the team building the foundation for the client's next-generation web platform, this role will support and extend running applications and assist in the design and development of new applications. Working within the Retail Media Network's Billing team, the ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of designing applications to run on a scalable platform within an agile environment that utilizes test-driven development and pair programming.

Key Responsibilities:
- Developing Java/Spring web applications
- Performing aggressive refactoring
- Utilizing the Unix/Linux command line
- Applying Object-Oriented Programming and Service-Oriented Architecture design
- Participating in the planning process: taking high-level design discussions to create user stories, then further breaking those stories into tasks
Primary Requirements:
- 7-10 years of relevant application software development experience
- Test-Driven Development
- Strong Spring knowledge
- Developing Spring/Java/Groovy/Maven applications
- Experience in developing/consuming REST Services
- Object-oriented programming and experience with working knowledge of Design Patterns
- Experience with emergent design and paired programming
- High comfort level with Unix/Linux command line
- Strong unit-testing skills (Junit/Spock in particular)
- Comfortable with database (DB) and Kafka-related development, including design, implementation, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
- Experience with large-scale distributed systems and client-server architectures
