Genesis10 is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a 6 contract position with a manufacturing client located in Oshkosh, WI.

The Mechanical Engineer will design, analyze, and develop reliable, cost-effective components for heavy-duty vehicles. This role will support both new and existing vehicle platforms, ensuring safety, performance, and manufacturability. The position is suited for early-career engineers who can contribute to engineering projects under close supervision while gaining valuable industry experience.
Responsibilities:
- Perform engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks under supervision, following established standards and processes.
- Support senior engineers in the preparation of plans, designs, computation methods, and reporting.
- Assist with projects of limited complexity in a support capacity.
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams, other business functions, and external suppliers as needed.
- Maintain effective communication with suppliers, customers, and external stakeholders regarding technical issues.
- Ensure adherence to engineering criteria, drawing standards, and company policies.
- Evaluate designs to ensure safety, reliability, and performance standards are met.
- Prepare layouts, drawings, specifications, and bills of material.
- Perform analyses to support the selection of components, materials, and parts.
- Provide basic technical support for production and troubleshoot reported issues.
- Prepare technical reports, proposals, quotations, and presentations.
- Apply analytical and mathematical methods to model system performance and optimize designs.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
- Internship experience or 6 months of related engineering work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Knowledge of automotive or heavy-vehicle equipment and systems.
- Experience with advanced CAD systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical standards, safety rules, and procedures.
- Problem-solving ability within structured processes and policies.
- Experience coordinating or reviewing the work of others in a lead or support capacity.
