This executive will oversee accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, expense management, cash flow, compliance, billing, collections, and strategic financial planning, while partnering with senior leadership to strengthen financial performance, operating efficiency, financial discipline, and enterprise risk management.

The CFO will be expected to transform complex financial information into clear business insight and actionable recommendations, while ensuring the organization maintains strong financial controls, statutory compliance, regulatory compliance, and P&C insurance accounting disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

Finance & Accounting Leadership

  • Maintain a strong financial control environment designed to protect and strengthen the company's financial position.

  • Translate complex financial data and financial analysis into clear, actionable business recommendations.

  • Serve as a strategic financial advisor to the Senior Leadership Team and other key stakeholders.

Insurance Financial Reporting & Compliance

  • Oversee financial reporting and ensure compliance with statutory accounting, GAAP, regulatory requirements, and property & casualty insurance requirements.

  • Maintain strong internal controls and financial reporting disciplines.

  • Ensure accurate and timely financial information is available to executive leadership for decision-making.

  • Partner with leadership on financial and operational risk identification, assessment, and mitigation.

  • Identify opportunities for cost optimization, expense management, and operational efficiency.

  • Provide senior leadership with financial analysis and recommendations supporting strategic planning and long-term financial strength.

Reinsurance & Enterprise Risk Management

  • Partner with senior leadership to evaluate and manage the financial impact of reinsurance transactions and related strategic decisions.

  • Lead the company's enterprise risk management strategy with a focus on identifying, assessing, and mitigating material financial and operational exposures.

  • Evaluate the financial implications of significant business decisions and transactions.

Why This Opportunity Will Appeal to an Insurance Accounting Leader

This is more than a traditional CFO accounting position.

For an experienced insurance Controller or VP of Accounting, this role provides an opportunity to expand from core accounting and financial reporting into enterprise finance leadership, strategic planning, capital allocation, enterprise risk management, reinsurance, technology transformation, and executive decision-making.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to influence the company's operating strategy while leading the finance organization and serving as a trusted advisor to the Senior Leadership Team.

If you have built your career in P&C insurance accounting, statutory reporting, financial reporting, controllership, or insurance finance, and you are ready for a broader executive leadership opportunity, we would welcome a confidential conversation.
