Role Description
This is a full-time remote role for a Section Editor at Genesis Press. The Section Editor will oversee the curation and management of one of the platform’s sections, ensuring high-quality content that aligns with the mission and voice of the publication. Responsibilities include editing and refining submissions, collaborating with contributors to foster impactful storytelling, maintaining editorial schedules, and conducting research to identify compelling topics and contributors. The Section Editor will also provide guidance to writers, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and engagement in published works.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Editing, Copyediting, and Proofreading to ensure accuracy and polish for all published content
- Experience in Content Strategy and Commissioning to guide the development of impactful narratives and thematic focus
- Proficiency in Research and Analytical Thinking for identifying relevant topics and developing informed, thought-provoking content
- Excellent Verbal and Written Communication skills to effectively collaborate with contributors and maintain a consistent editorial voice
- General familiarity with Digital Publishing Tools and Content Management Systems (CMS)
- Prior experience in editorial roles or publishing, particularly in journalistic or literary platforms
- A Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Media Studies, or a related field is preferred
- Passion for storytelling, a keen editorial eye, and a strong commitment to inclusivity and diversity
