Job Summary
The Hemodialysis/Dialysis Technician Instructor will teach the didactic and clinical components of a curriculum designed to help students build knowledge and clinical skills aimed at enabling students to be employed as successful Hemodialysis/Dialysis technicians and provide preparation for the passing the national competency exam.
Duties
- Instruction including hands-on and theory, classroom management, and administrative tasks that may include grade reports/Calculations.
- Maintain current course syllabi for a course taught.
- Ensure that course is taught under the established syllabi.
Minimum Qualification:
- Dialysis Technician Certificate (Required)
- 2 plus years of work experience with direct patient care (Required)
- Teaching experience (Preferred)
- BPSS Dialysis Technician License is a PLUS
- Certification by BONNET or CCHT (Preferred)
Skills
- Proficient in performing dialysis procedures (dialyze) with a strong understanding of patient care.
- Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology to effectively monitor patient health during treatments.
- Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to nephrology and dialysis practices.
- Strong aseptic technique skills to prevent infections during procedures.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Additional Skills
- Proficient in medical terminology related to nephrology and dialysis procedures.
- Ability to effectively instruct dialysing patients using various equipment and techniques.
- Strong knowledge of physiology relevant to kidney function and overall health.
- Expertise in aseptic technique to maintain a sterile environment during treatments.
- Solid understanding of human anatomy, particularly the renal system, to provide effective patient care.
