Location: Endicott / Greater Binghamton, NY Region
Coverage Area: Multiple skilled nursing facilities throughout Endicott and the surrounding Southern Tier region
Salary: Starting at $250,000 based on experience and scope of coverage
Position Overview
Genesis Medical Health is seeking an experienced Medical Director / Attending Physician to provide clinical leadership and hands-on patient care across multiple skilled nursing facilities in the Endicott and Greater Binghamton region.
This position combines Medical Director oversight with attending physician responsibilities. The physician will work closely with facility administrators, nursing teams, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary staff to support high-quality care, regulatory compliance, and strong clinical outcomes.
We are seeking a highly clinical, hands-on physician who is comfortable practicing in the skilled nursing and post-acute care environment. Strong Internal Medicine experience is required, with Geriatric Medicine and SNF experience strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Serve as Medical Director and Attending Physician across multiple skilled nursing facilities
- Provide primary, post-acute, and chronic medical care to geriatric residents
- Conduct admissions, patient evaluations, follow-up visits, and ongoing disease management
- Collaborate with nursing staff, administrators, specialists, and interdisciplinary care teams
- Support clinical quality initiatives, regulatory compliance, and facility care standards
- Help reduce avoidable hospital readmissions and improve patient outcomes
- Participate in care-planning meetings and facility leadership discussions
- Provide clinical guidance and support to advanced practice providers and nursing teams
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation within facility EMR systems
Requirements
- MD or DO with an active New York medical license
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Geriatric Medicine
- Strong Internal Medicine experience required
- Skilled Nursing Facility, post-acute, or long-term care experience strongly preferred
- Geriatric Medicine experience preferred
- Strong clinical leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and travel between multiple facilities
