Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Chaplain role located in Zanesville, OH. The Chaplain will provide spiritual care, emotional support, and counseling to patients, families, and staff. Responsibilities include conducting spiritual assessments, offering prayers, coordinating religious resources, facilitating ceremonies such as memorials or blessings, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure holistic care for patients. The Chaplain will also champion cultural and spiritual sensitivity within the healthcare environment.
Qualifications
- Training or certification in pastoral care, chaplaincy, or a related field
- Strong emotional intelligence, active listening, and empathy skills
- Ability to work effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds, faiths, and beliefs
- Experience in providing spiritual counseling, grief support, and crisis intervention
- Proficiency in communication and ability to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team
- Flexibility, resilience, and the capacity to adapt to a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Master of Divinity (M.Div.) or related degree and completion of at four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE).
- Board Certification issues by the APC, NACC, Nechama, or CASC is required within two years of employment.
