Field Electrician

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Electrical Field Technician II role based in Carson, CA, for an experienced electrician approaching journeyman level with 3 years in the field. The technician runs service calls and small jobs with limited supervision and performs panel upgrades, house wiring, fixture and device work, and generator diagnostics and service. Day to day includes troubleshooting and diagnosing faults, reading electrical drawings and schematics, using test instruments to verify proper operation, job layout, and professional on-site interaction with customers. The role includes daily job reporting with photo documentation and coordination with the lead technician and operations on status, issues, and scheduling.

Compensation

$30 to $35 per hour depending on experience. The starting rate is $30 per hour through the first 90 days, roughly $62,400 per year at 40 hours, with room to grow as skills are verified.

Benefits

After a 90 day probation, Genesis provides a company vehicle, fuel card, vehicle insurance, and maintenance. During probation we provide mileage reimbursement or a take-home vehicle depending on the role. The vehicle program is worth roughly $8,000 to $12,000 per year. This is a career-track position with a clear path toward journeyman and increased pay and responsibility.

Qualifications

• 3 years of hands-on electrical field experience, approaching journeyman level
• Strong troubleshooting ability: finding root causes and making effective repairs
• Experience with panel upgrades, wiring, service calls, and electrical maintenance
• Generator diagnostics or Generac experience a plus
• Comfortable reading electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
• Familiar with applicable electrical codes, OSHA safety practices, and lockout/tagout
• Proficient with electrical tools and test instruments in field settings
• Professional, customer-facing communication
• High school diploma or equivalent; trade school, apprenticeship, or certification preferred
• Valid California driver's license and clean driving record (company vehicle program)
• Takes ownership, stays calm under pressure, reliable, wants a career and not just a paycheck
