Job Summary:

Genesis Consulting is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Manager / Business Analyst (PM/BA) to lead and support complex IT projects that drive strategic and operational success. This hybrid role will combine project management and business analysis responsibilities to ensure successful project delivery, risk mitigation, and alignment with stakeholders' needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the entire project lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to contract requirements, and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Lead and manage daily project activities to ensure projects remain on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Support the integration of new Education Technology Applications with existing systems.
  • Develop high-quality deliverables and documentation for leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Project Planning and Scheduling
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans with defined tasks, milestones, timelines, and resource allocations.
  • Regularly update plans to reflect progress and track project success.
  • Monitor milestones and proactively flag risks to avoid delays.
  • Resource Allocation and Management
  • Assign appropriate personnel, budgets, and tools to project tasks.
  • Ensure subject-matter expertise is engaged throughout all project phases.
  • Project Execution and Delivery
  • Manage daily execution of project tasks to ensure delivery of quality outcomes.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Collaboration & Communication
  • Create and execute stakeholder communication plans.
  • Provide regular status reports covering performance metrics, timelines, budgets, and escalations.
  • Work closely with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Foster consistent and effective communication to keep all parties aligned.
  • Risk & Issue Management
  • Proactively identify and assess risks.
  • Develop and adjust mitigation strategies as needed to maintain project momentum.
  • Document, escalate, and resolve risks and issues using approved methodologies.
  • Communicate risk impact and timelines for resolution to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation including project charters, schedules, meeting notes, and status reports.
  • Ensure all documentation is accessible and audit ready.
  • Deliver polished project materials to senior leadership and external partners.
  • Draft and maintain project workflows, communication strategies, and status updates.
  • Continuously refine and audit documentation based on evolving project needs and feedback.
  • Stakeholder Liaison
  • Serve as the liaison between technical teams, support teams, and end users to ensure needs are understood and addressed.
  • Facilitate communication and resolution of stakeholder concerns and issues.
  • Data & Report Analysis
  • Partner with internal teams to analyze project data and reports.
  • Present key performance indicators and insights clearly to varied audiences.
  • Invoice Fulfillment
  • Review and QA invoice-related documentation.
  • Prepare and package supporting documents for leadership review and payment approval.

Requirements Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

  • 6 years of combined experience in Project Management and Business Analysis.
  • 5 years in client-facing and customer service roles.
  • Experience in public sector, education, or enterprise IT environment.
  • Experience managing projects integrating education technology applications with existing systems is strongly preferred.
  • 6 years of experience creating and managing project documentation.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, IT service management, and system integration.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project, Visio), Smartsheet, and Google Workspace.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.

Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Information Technology, or another related field.

Required Certifications:

PMP or Agile Certifications preferred.

Other:

  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Candidates must be able to be onsite in New York, NY as needed.
