WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Oversee and execute multiple large and medium-sized projects on time, within budget, and to agreed specifications to satisfy project requirements.
- Serve as a team lead for projects, and as the liaison to internal departments as needed.
- Manage client interaction on assigned projects and promote positive relations.
- Assess project requirements, while developing and recommending a sound approach or application to meet the needs of the project and client.
- Attend pre-bid meetings with clients and prepare proposals with the Principal or Project Executive, department heads, directors, and other key individuals; actively assist in Design budget development.
- Monitor and review project budgets, scope and exclusions, schedules and deliverables, and staffing requirements with project teams; Establish appropriate metrics for measuring key project criteria.
- Identify, prepare, and issue scope changes and negotiate with clients before proceeding with work.
- Maintain open items and potential change logs.
- Conduct status review meetings with project team members and clients.
- Prepare and issue meeting agendas and meeting minutes.
- Manage design sub-consultants.
- Identify potential risks to the project and work with Principals or Project Executives to mitigate them.
- Coordinate with the design software group (BIM).
- Coordinate quality control and quality assurance reviews.
- Participate in the construction administration phase of the project including attending construction meetings and assisting Construction Coordinators with distributing shop drawings and RFIs in a timely manner.
Minimum Qualifications
- 10 years of project management experience with an understanding of engineering and construction industry practices.
- MUST have a strong Architectural Design or Engineering discipline background and experience managing Architectural and Engineering design for Life Sciences Research & Development Laboratories and Manufacturing / Clean Room projects.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and best practices to drive overall project performance.
- MUST have a strong ability to manage project budgets, understand project scope, manage project schedules, and negotiate changes with clients.
- Have analytical thinking, structured problem-solving skills, and a strong workethic.
- Ability to build rapport with project staff.
- Progressive ability, capacity, and aptitude in administration to plan, organize, supervise, and coordinate technical work and to obtain cooperation from others.
- High level of scheduling skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience using Project Management and Scheduling software.
- Understanding of Earned Value Management and other project controls methods.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to travel intermittently to support project needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Registration (P.E.) or Registered Architect (RA) is desired.
- Project Management Institute – PMP certification preferred.
