The Geneseo Chamber of Commerce is seeking a dynamic and experienced Executive Director to lead our organization. This pivotal role involves strategic leadership, operational oversight, and fostering strong relationships within the community and local businesses. The Executive Director will serve as the primary representative of the Chamber, driving initiatives that promote economic growth, community engagement, and business development. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in management, strategic planning, and senior leadership, with a passion for supporting local commerce and community prosperity.
Primary Responsibilities
· Oversee day-to-day operations of the Chamber office
· Strong marketing skills including social media, events and promotional efforts
· Maintain all Chamber financial records
· Prepare and interpret budgets and profit & loss statements
· Coordinate and manage all Chamber events
· Collaborate with the City of Geneseo government and officials
· Manage advertising and marketing efforts across multiple media platforms
· Attend City Council, Committee of the Whole, and other meetings impacting Chamber membership
Leadership & Organizational Requirements
· Serve as the Executive Director for a nonprofit organization
· Work effectively within a governance structure reporting to a Board of Directors
· Act as a self-motivated business visionary supporting Chamber growth and member success
Required Skills & Qualifications
· Strong understanding of accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting
· Knowledge of nonprofit operations
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Familiarity with grant writing
Work Schedule (In-person)
· Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (40 hours per week) weekend availability required for events
Compensation
Competitive compensation based upon experience

· Reports directly to the 13-member Geneseo Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors
