Position Overview
A GCS Teacher serves as an integral member of the Geneseo CSD team, supporting the district's mission to provide a safe, inclusive, and high-quality educational environment. This position requires commitment to excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement in service of student success.

Major Responsibilities

  • Perform duties aligned with district goals, policies, and New York State regulations.
  • Support and promote a positive, safe, and inclusive environment for students, staff, and families.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal regulations, ensuring alignment with student needs and goals.
  • Use multiple sources of student data (e.g., progress monitoring, assessments, behavioral data) to inform instructional decisions, evaluate IEP goal progress, and adjust supports and services accordingly.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to ensure appropriate accommodations, modifications, and supports are effectively implemented.
  • Implement and/or support high-quality instructional practices that actively engage students, foster curiosity and creativity, and develop future-ready skills.
  • Utilize data, feedback, and professional judgment to inform decision-making and improve outcomes.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues, administrators, families, and community stakeholders. Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reporting as required.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, ethical conduct, and confidentiality in all aspects of the role.

  • Participate in professional development and training opportunities.
  • Attend meetings, events, and activities as required or assigned.
  • Contribute to school/district initiatives, committees, or improvement efforts.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including students, families, and staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or designee.

Additional Information

  • Salary: Commensurate with experience and in accordance with applicable collective bargaining agreement.
  • Reports To: Building Principal

Job Qualifications


Required:

  • Appropriate New York State certification in the specified content area
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
