0.5 Teacher Aide

Position Overview

The teacher aides play an essential role in the classroom and provide overall support to the teacher(s) and children in the classroom. We are looking for an individual with an interest and passion for working with Kindergarten students and educators.

Skills & Competencies

• Interpersonal skills: Aides must be able to maintain good working relationships with both students and staff
• Communication skills: A teacher aide must communicate clearly with students, teachers and staff.
• Technology skills: A teacher aide may have to support students with accessing technology or using a digital platform. Computer and technology skills are necessary in order to be able to provide support.

Duties may include:

• Help teacher with attendance or other administrative tasks
• Set up materials and equipment to help teachers prepare lessons
• Provide additional supervision for students during class

Candidates must possess a High School Diploma (or it's recognized equivalent) and fingerprinting is required.
