SUMMARY:
Join Genesee & Wyoming as a Real Estate Transaction Associate and play a vital role in supporting our railroads and real estate operations. In this position, you’ll manage, negotiate, and process new real estate and access agreements, helping to ensure safe and reliable access to our railroads for utilities, public agencies, and other customers. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Negotiate, prepare, and process a high volume of lease and license agreements in compliance with company policies to support safe access for customers, railroad operations, and third parties.
- Process other real estate documents as needed, adapting to new challenges and priorities.
- Collaborate with internal and external clients, building relationships and fostering teamwork.
- Complete assignments with meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to timely delivery.
- Take ownership of projects and tasks, applying sound judgment and creative problem-solving to move initiatives forward.
- Support audits of existing real estate agreements to maintain accuracy and uphold safety and operational requirements.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access).
- Excellent writing skills.
- Possess excellent oral and interpersonal communication skills in working with internal and external clients.
- Basic knowledge of real estate agreements.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and follow through to completion.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
