Duties

• Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing instruments and maintaining a sterile environment using aseptic techniques.
• Handle animals safely and confidently, utilizing proper restraint techniques for various species including dogs, cats, and equines.
• Perform laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and other diagnostic procedures to support accurate diagnoses.
• Maintain detailed records of animal treatments, medications, and procedures while ensuring compliance with veterinary terminology and protocols.
• Support pet owners with pet care advice, including grooming, feeding, and basic training tips like dog handling and training.
• Conduct animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, cleaning enclosures, and monitoring animal physiology to ensure optimal health.
• Capture diagnostic images like X-rays while adhering to safety standards; assist with dental procedures involving dental terminology and pet dental care.

Requirements

• Proven kennel experience along with animal handling skills across different species.
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and physiology to effectively support clinical procedures.
• Experience in veterinary critical care settings or laboratory environments is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with equine handling or experience working with large animals is a plus.
• Strong skills in animal catheterization, restraint techniques, and pet grooming are preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly about veterinary procedures and pet care instructions to clients.
• Certification or prior experience as a veterinary technician is advantageous; however, motivated individuals with relevant animal care background are encouraged to apply. Pay: $24.08 - $30.00 per hour
