Job Title: Personal Care Aide Paid Training

Schedule: Days (1 week training)
SUMMARY:
The required training consists of a minimum of 40 hours, combining classroom learning, skills demonstrations, and competency evaluation. Trainees must attend and complete all required hours of the training course.
Key Responsibilities (During Training):
- Attend and actively participate in all scheduled classroom instruction and hands-on clinical training sessions.
- Learn and practice personal care skills such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility assistance.
- Develop an understanding of nutrition, meal preparation, and safe feeding procedures.
- Learn light housekeeping duties including laundry, bed making, and household cleaning.
- Observe and practice safe body mechanics and proper transfer techniques.
- Learn how to recognize and report changes in a client’s physical and emotional condition.
- Follow the instructor’s directions and demonstrate competency in all required skills.
- Complete required written assignments and competency evaluations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Compassionate, patient, and reliable with strong interpersonal skills.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- NYS driver’s license is required.
