Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in criminal justice, social work or public/business administration -AND- two (2) years' experience in case management of substance abuse services or mental health services;

  • OR-

Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, social work or public/business administration -AND- four (4) years' experience in case management of substance abuse services or mental health services.

Experience as a problem-solving court team member and grant writing experience strongly preferred.

JOB SUMMARY: Performs professional duties in the planning, development and implementation of a comprehensive sobriety court program; coordinates sobriety court activities and monitors the daily operations of sobriety court; seeks out grants and submits applications for grant funding; manages grants including budgets and reporting requirements; works under the direction of the Court Administrator or designee; performs related duties as required.

Essential Job Duties And Functions

  • Provides oversight of the daily operations of sobriety court.
  • Seeks out and coordinates applications for grant funding to support sobriety court.
  • Drafts and submits applications for funding opportunities through local, state and federal funding sources.
  • Monitors grant funds and prepares and submits required reports for all sobriety court grants.
  • Works with fiscal services to ensure timely compliance with budget, statistical and financial grant components.
  • Ensures program compliance to maintain SCAO certifications, including regular training for team members.
  • Prepares policy and procedures for the sobriety court program.
  • Determines referral processes.
  • Establishes and oversees intake and screening procedures related to participant eligibility and coordinates with community providers related to participant evaluation and assessment.
  • Attends pre-court team status meetings for sobriety court hearings.
  • Provides support, guidance and consultation to sobriety court team members.
  • Trains new social service workers-probation officers assigned to sobriety court.
  • Serves as liaison between and coordinates with other county departments and community agencies as it relates to sobriety court.
  • Collaborates with non-profit organizations regarding funding and program activities.
  • Serves as the administrator for the Drug Court Case Management Information Systems (DCCMIS) program, WebGrants and other data platforms associated with sobriety court.
  • Develops data collection protocol for the use in evaluation of sobriety court and ensures accuracy and timeliness of all data collected.
  • May supervise individuals placed on formal probation in sobriety court.
  • Maintains a variety of casework records and prepares reports as required.
  • Oversees various other projects as required.
