Location : Atlanta, GA 30303 - Hybrid
Project Duration: 12 months of contract
Job Summary
Seeking a highly experienced Project Manager to lead multiple complex and high-impact projects supporting digital modernization, innovation, and service-delivery initiatives. The ideal candidate has demonstrated success in public-sector project management, excels at navigating complex stakeholder environments, and is a self-starter capable of driving projects with minimal oversight.
Responsibilities
- Manage concurrent, complex projects across local government departments and agencies.
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, dashboards, and documentation.
- Track scope, budget, timelines, risks, issues, and dependencies; escalate as needed.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
- Produce weekly and monthly status updates and KPI reports.
- Monitor vendor deliverables and contract compliance.
- Ensure alignment with digital transformation priorities.
- Support public-facing digital engagement and modernization initiatives.
- Maintain strong stakeholder communication and relationships.
- Operate independently and proactively identify and resolve gaps.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5 years of project management experience with complex, multi-workstream projects.
- Public-sector or municipal government experience required.
- Strong understanding of PMBOK, Agile, or hybrid methodologies.
- Experience managing schedules, budgets, risks, and communication plans.
- Ability to work independently and drive outcomes.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills, including KPI tracking.
- Experience working with cross-functional and technical teams.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Proficiency with PM tools such as MS Project, Smart sheet, or Monday.com.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP, CAPM, CSM, or similar certifications.
- Experience supporting digital transformation or modernization projects.
- Experience collaborating with vendors, consultants, and multiple departments.
- Familiarity with digital equity, engagement, or civic technology initiatives.
