The Health Services Director ensures the delivery of exceptional care services to residents in the Assisted Living and/or Memory Care community. The Health Services Director leads the care team in developing resident care plans and monitoring residents to ensure that changing care needs are met. Complies with federal, state and local standards for community operation. Monitors policies and procedures, public relations and employee morale. Incorporates the Generation’s mission, vision, and values into their daily work and interactions with others.

JOB SPECIFICATION:
Must have a two-year degree in a related field and experience in health care and/or assisted living.
Must be a Registered Nurse i the state of WA.
Certification in CPR and First Aid.
Ability to read, write, communicate, and follow written and oral instructions in the English language.
Work Experience
Must have worked with people in a supervisory position in a similar campus setting for a minimum of three years.
Supervision
Needs to be self-directed and possess the ability to make decisions. Is accountable for department performance. Works closely with the Executive Director and other department heads.

Working Conditions
Indoors with the potential to work in hot humid conditions in some resident apartments. Works with a variety of staff. Interacts with the public, personnel, visitors, family members, and residents under all circumstances. Works outside of the facility occasionally.

Scope Of Job Tasks
- Assist in establishing the policies pertaining to total resident care, personnel, medical staff, and resident care policies, etc.
- Explain policies and procedures to staff, residents, visitor, etc.
- Assist with and participate in the training of staff.
- In conjunction with the AL Executive Director, hire, train, supervise, counsel as needed, and terminate the care staff as conditions arise.
- In conjunction with AL Executive Director, perform evaluations, counsel, discipline and discharge if necessary, all health care staff.
- Assist with investigations of resident care as needed.
- Complete delegation training, assessments and documentation per state guidelines.
- Review policies and procedures periodically and make changes as necessary.
- May be asked to manage other departments as specified by AL Executive Director.
- Maintain working relationship with community hospitals and other health facilities in the community and coordinate with their services through work and transfer agreements.
- Participate in community activities.
- Keep current on all laws pertaining to the facility operation.
- Assist personnel and residents in establishing a home-like atmosphere.
