The primary purpose of your job is to provide nursing care to the residents and to supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants. Such supervision must be in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, and as may be required by the Director of Nursing Service or Clinical Coordinator to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.
Reporting Relationships
This position reports to the Clinical Coordinator/Nursing Supervisor.
Qualifications
1. Must be at least 18 years of age.
2. Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and licensed as an RN or LPN in the state of Alabama
3. Must possess the skills to perform the techniques and practices of a licensed nurse.
4. Must have knowledge of and interest in the care of the geriatric resident.
Job Description
1.Chart nurses' notes in an informative and descriptive manner that reflects the care provided to the resident, as well as the resident's response to the care.
2. Fill out and complete accident/incident reports.
3. Transcribe physician's orders to resident charts, TARs, treatment/care plans, as required.
4. Perform routine charting duties as required in accordance with established charting and documentation policies and procedures.
5. Sign and date all entries in the resident's medical record.
6. Prepare and administer medications ordered by the physician.
7. Ensure that narcotic records are accurate for your shift.
8. Ensure that an adequate supply of floor stock medications, supplies and equipment is on hand to meet the nursing needs of the residents. Report needs to Nurse Supervisor.
9. All other duties as assigned.
