Our mission is to enrich the lives of our “grandfriends”, children and their families by providing an opportunity for our residents and children to come together for purposeful engagement on a daily basis.
We are hiring for an energetic, warm, nurturing, and passionate about education individual who loves who can provide a loving environment to our children, Grandfriends, and families! Individuals will be carefully chosen for their sensitivity and ability to meet the needs of both children and their families.
Teacher Assistant Responsibilities:
- Assist the Lead Teacher plan, supervise, and implement a program for the class in accordance with the policies at Generations
- Spend your days building genuine relationships with each child.
- Create a fun, safe environment for students to discover new concepts with confidence through multi-sensory learning experiences.
- Develop and implement weekly lesson plans centered around play based learning
- Maintain a well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore and make decisions with confidence.
- Discover what works best for each child as you teach them about the world around them.
- Be a part of the daily intergenerational programs with our memory care residents, and witness the unique and special bonds that our children and “Grandfriends” develop.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High school or equivalent
- BA degree in any field, with college credits in Education/Education related field (ex: psychology, gender studies/women's studies, art appreciation, language courses, etc) OR CDA credential OR AA in Education/Early Childhood Education
Experience:
- Early Childhood General Education Teachers: 2-3 years (Preferred)
- Play based Learning Center (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- CPR Certification (Preferred)
- First Aid (Preferred)
- CDA (Preferred)
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
