Technical Designer

Location: Long Island City, NY

Role Overview: Generation Love, a contemporary womenswear brand, is seeking a Technical Designer to join our team. This role owns garment construction, specifications, and fit, ensuring product quality and consistency from SMS through bulk production. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and confident managing multiple timelines within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5 years of hands-on experience in a similar role
• Expert knowledge of pattern making, grading, and garment construction for woven and knit apparel.
• Experience working directly with manufacturers
• Confident using outlook and Excel
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable juggling multiple timelines.
• Clear concise communication is a must both written and verbal

Key Responsibilities

• Execute fit comments in a timely manner to ensure the fit process stays in line with production and action timelines
• Establish and maintain consistent fit standards for the brand, ensuring that every product aligns with our vision and customer expectations.
• Create and uphold comprehensive specs and grading rules for all product categories
• Responsible for organizing fit samples by marking all incoming samples as received, communicating with production on fit priority and setting up fit rack accordingly
• Track and measure fit samples prior to fittings and lead the fittings for assigned styles.
