We are seeking a passionate, skilled, and committed Christian Preschool Director to lead our team of educators and ensure that we continue to offer a high-quality preschool experience that aligns with our values.
**Job Summary:**
The Preschool Director will play a key leadership role in overseeing all day-to-day operations of our preschool. This includes supervising staff, managing enrollment, ensuring the smooth running of classrooms, and ensuring compliance with state regulations. The Director will also be responsible for fostering a positive and encouraging environment for staff, children, and families while maintaining the values of the Christian faith throughout the preschool.
Duties
**Key Responsibilities:**
**Staff Management & Development:**
- Conduct weekly classroom observations and provide ongoing training for staff.
- Lead new hire orientations, including distribution of staff badges and shirts.
- Coordinate monthly staff trainings through Prosolutions or CCRR.
- Assist with child incidents/behaviors and provide guidance to staff.
- Send weekly staff encouragement and plan regular staff meetings.
- Conduct staff 1-on-1s and annual staff evaluations.
- Manage the recruitment process, including conducting interviews and hiring new employees.
- Oversee staff attendance, track points, and manage scheduling needs.
- **Child and Family Support:**
- Coordinate preschool special events and family engagement activities.
- Ensure proper documentation on Brightwheel is completed daily by staff.
- Administer medication and handle child illness/behavior situations as needed.
- Communicate with parents regarding their child's needs, including calls for illness or behavior.
- Conduct tours for prospective families and handle enrollment processes.
- Support the transition of students into new rooms and manage roster updates.
- **Administrative & Financial Duties:**
- Send payroll every other Monday and ensure payroll management.
- Track all PTO and anniversary dates for staff and approve/deny time off requests.
- Approve purchase orders
- Manage monthly fire drills and other safety drills.
- Conduct immunization audits and oversee fire inspection processes.
- Manage billing, payments, and apply late fees as needed.
- Handle weekly updates to Brightwheel, including entering new children and staff.
- Schedule parent meetings and conferences as necessary.
- **Compliance & Licensing:**
- Maintain contact with licensing consultants and conduct walks with the Licensing Consultant (LC).
- Ensure the school is in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
- **Additional Responsibilities:**
- Plan and lead staff devotional times and schedule regular meetings for spiritual growth.
- Oversee classroom curriculum to ensure staff are prepared for the week ahead.
- Ensure the daily break schedule is implemented and that all operational needs are met.
Requirements
**Qualifications:**
- 3 years of experience in preschool leadership or a similar role.
- A heart for children and a commitment to upholding Christian values in all aspects of leadership.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and lead a team.
- Ability to manage administrative tasks efficiently and maintain organized records.
- Knowledge of state licensing regulations and early childhood education best practices.
- Must pass a background check and be CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to obtain).
